The USB C is a standard with a MTBF of 10,000 insertions, which under normal use is longer than the lifespan of most devices. A properly made USB C plug only allows the cable to be inserted straight and aligned with the pins, and it shouldn't "wiggle" much in the port. You shouldn't be able to put any strain on the connector in the plug.
Extension cables & couplers are dangerous to use for power, unreliable to use for data, and will behave weirdly when the plug is rotated. You should not be using one. The only way to safely do this, is to use a USB-C hub. A reputable USB-C "extension cable" would literally be a 1-port USB hub, and those sold by cheap brands definitely aren't one.
